Artist's Biography

Rachel Nicholson was born in 1934.  She typically paints landscape and still life, influenced by the work of her parents Barbara Hepworth and Ben Nicholson. There are obvious echoes from the St.Ives studios in Rachel Nicholson’s work, but more important is the place itself; she is influenced by light and landscape.   Her work has been shown in mixed exhibitions at Milton Keynes Exhibition Gallery and Beaux Arts Gallery, Bath, both 1981 and Crane Kalman Gallery 1983.  She has had a series of solo shows at Montpelier Studio.
